


Chesapeake Bay Draketail Workboat Model, Wooden Construction. Draketails have a distinctive rounded stern with a “reverse rake” transom. This design is partially based on torpedo boats and racing boats of the early 1900’s. Draketails (also called Dovetails) originated on Hoopers Island, MD. They were among the first workboats to be outfitted with a gasoline engine. Draketails have a narrow beam, resulting in higher speeds than other workboats. Draketail model (Blackway Boat Models #DKT) is wooden construction, hand-crafted and hand-painted. Model is fully assembled (not a kit), ready to display. Draketail includes anchor and chain, chocks, bitts, navigation lights, hand rails, horn, cabin windows and portholes, detailed cabin interior, varnished cabin door, fire extinguisher, life ring, engine box, exhaust pipe, dual control stations, rope steering set-up, tiller steering stick, gas tank and mounting bracket, 3-blade prop and rudder. Boat is painted white, with gray cockpit and copper/red bottom paint. Stand (included) is painted black and boat is removable from stand.
