The hull is constructed using a plank on frame method, each strip of exotic wood are carefully join together to form a smooth hull. This model is completely hand built to spec by skillful and creative master craftsmen; you will be amazed at how real it looks. They are all connected to numerous full-size fabric sails with detailed stitching, all rigging are painstakingly fastened by hand in matching colors. On the main deck, you will come across 2 wooden boats situated in a large rectangular area with 2 wooden bunkers, a wooden/metal steering wheel, and a wooden bunker with a telescope. On the poop deck, there’s navigational area with 2 metal steering wheels for the captain and 1 wooden cabin. There are metal railings surrounding the beakdeck area toward the quarter deck area. You can easily spot 2 rows of numerous metal cannons on both side of the hull. An attached wooden stand with a nameplate engraved “HMS Surprise 1794″ is standard on this model. Our model was built according to scale through original plans, pictures and drawings. We absolutely use no plastic parts only the highest quality wood and metal parts. Our HMS Surprise model comes fully-assembled and ready to be display. The Surprise was painstakingly re-created to look like a vessel from the Revolutionary War Era. Rose when launched in 1970 in Nova Scotia, and for more than 30 years it served as a sail-training vessel, primarily along the East Coast. In the movie, a fictional British frigate named the Surprise and a much larger French warship, the Acheron, stalk each other off of the coast of South America.
