The clock is running and striking however, the strike is not working properly and it only dings once or twice instead of the full 8 bell count like it should. I believe it is just in need of an adjustment or putting more tension on one of the return springs to get the rack to drop down like it should. I have had other Chelsea clocks in the past do the same thing and once cleaned, they worked fine. Brass case is spotted and oxidized throughout. The ring which holds the brass wheel spokes is a copper color and its the first I have seen like this. I believe someone used a chemical or buffed it at one time taking the bronze or red brass plating off. It actually gives it a unique look. Bezel opens and closes properly and the button latch works as it should. Serial number dates the clock to the mid 60’s around to 1967.
